First day of school

I forgot to mention that Isaac started school on September 1! You may recall that he is attending "developmental kindergarten," which they call DK -- it's another year of preschool designed for younger five-year-olds who aren't quite ready for the rigors of the modern kindergarten. It's probably a lot like kindergarten used to be.

Here he is on our front step on the first day of school, all dressed up and ready to go. Yes, he dressed himself. Why do you ask? He has dressed himself for years, in fact. Did you note his fancy beaded necklace? He wore it every day for the first week of school.

In the bag is a special rock he wanted to give his favorite teacher Martha. She was very excited and added it to the class rock collection.

Isaac is really enjoying school. In fact, today is Saturday, and at dinner he asked, "How many more days before I get to go back to DK?"
