Cousins

We had a big extended-family Easter party at my parents' house, as we have for many years now, and while I was going through the photos trying to choose some to share on my blog, I was struck with a sense of familiarity.

At Easter I took photos of Laurel with the two relatives who are closest to her in age: her second cousins Jett and Patrick. The photo below shows Laurel (on the left) sitting with Jett, who is about six months older. It was not the best photo of the bunch (and plus I've cropped out Patrick), but it reminded me of another photo, one taken nearly 40 years ago.




It is a very low-quality scan, but the photo below, taken in June 1970, shows me (on the left) at six months, sitting (barely!) with my cousin Kimberly, who is about three months older. Kim is Jett's mother.


I really enjoy how these things repeat themselves. I'll post some real Easter photos later (hopefully!), but for now I'm satisfied with my trip down memory lane.
