One milestone per child, part four

While I was at painting class today, Isaac made his own peanut butter and jam sandwich. When I got home, Craig asked me if Isaac often made his own lunch.

"No," I said. "He never has. But he's never wanted to."

For whatever reason, today Isaac volunteered to make his own sandwich. Craig got the knife for him, since the drawer has a child-proof latch, but Isaac took out all the ingredients and assembled it himself. And he ate it, too.

Craig is inspiring all sorts of milestones lately. At the dinner table earlier this week, Laurel pointed right at him and said, "Da-da." She also pointed at Isaac and said something resembling his name.

I, on the other hand, got nothing.
