Sibling similarity

A few days ago the kids were playing in my bed with my phone. Photo opportunity! To get them to look at the camera, I knelt above them and made bunny ears behind my own head. That's why Isaac is trying to not smile and Laurel is wondering what the heck her mother is doing.

This is not the best photo from the series, but I like it because it allows me to compare their facial features.

There's a sibling similarity, right? The coloring of their skin and hair is different, though, as well as the shape of their noses.

I think the most similarity is found in the eye region. Their eyes are basically the same shape, as are their eyebrows and the space between them. I frequently hear that their eye color is identical, but they are distinctly different.

Isaac's eyes are thoroughly, no-doubt-about-it blue, just barely flecked with white to give a denim look. Laurel's eyes are also blue, but changeable -- sometimes gray-green, sometimes silver-violet like pewter or mercury, and encircled by a darker ring.
