Isaac asked me, "Should I wear a little lip gloss to the music class tomorrow?"
I was confused. Laurel had a cold this week (in fact we all did) so she missed her usual Music Together class on Monday, and Isaac and I had just been discussing whether we would be well enough to attend class tomorrow instead.
At first I thought he was making a joke of some sort, but I couldn't figure it out. Finally I asked him what he meant.
He seemed confused too, and asked, "Should I wear lip gloss to the make-up class?"
Make-up! Ah-ha!
I love it when things like this happen because they remind me that Isaac is only four years old. They happen so infrequently, however, that most of the time I assume he understands absolutely everything. Perhaps this isn't a good thing? I'm probably not doing him any favors by having such high expectations.
