Dinosaurs

I neglected to mention that there was a big birthday around here. Not only did Laurel turn 20 months old on the 8th, but Isaac turned five years old on the 6th!

Isaac requested a paleontology-themed birthday party, which happened over the weekend. This dinosaur skeleton was one of the party games -- we buried the cardboard bones in the sandbox, and after the kids dug them up they set them in place on a painted cardboard skeleton, as Isaac demonstrates here.

More about the birthday party, and about my suddenly big boy, in future posts. For now: happy birthday, Isaac!

Laurel calls dinosaurs "saurs." She says it "SORE-sess," which rhymes with (and sounds a lot like!) "horses." In fact, for a day or two I couldn't understand what she was saying, and I was really surprised that she was confusing a triceratops with a horse! Then I figured it out.
