It's been five weeks since I posted a picture of my belly, so here's another one. Do I look a lot bigger? I've only gained three pounds in the past four weeks, so things are slowing down.Any predictions from my readers? When do you think the baby will be born? How much will she weigh? Leave a comment!
This picture was taken yesterday, when I was 38 weeks and one day pregnant. I'm guessing the baby will be born prior to 39 weeks. I've specifically guessed 38 weeks and five days, which is this coming Thursday afternoon, but that's mostly because our housekeepers come on Thursday morning and I really hope they have a chance to get the house clean before I go into labor.
My birthweight guess (specific to that birthdate) is seven pounds, 13 ounces. I'm not sure why I think she's so small, considering that Isaac was eight pounds, eight ounces. I'm also guessing this baby is shorter than Isaac's 21 1/2 inches, because she acts like she's less crowded. You could see Isaac thrashing around in utero, limbs practically jutting out of my skin, but Leaf mostly pushes upward rather politely. This may be related to her temperament rather than her actual size, as the midwife says she's packed pretty high up under my ribs. Or maybe she's so huge that she just doesn't have room to move.
For comparison, this second photo is from my pregnancy with Isaac, and it was also taken at 38 weeks and one day. He was born eight days later, at 39 weeks and two days.(Yes, I'm wearing the same sweatpants!)
