Suppose one day the father of your children decides to come home early from work without telling you. Without warning, he suddenly appears at home at 3:00 in the afternoon.
What would you have liked him to find you doing?
(1) Cleaning the kitchen while your children frolic peacefully around you
(2) Checking Facebook while your children whine fretfully around you
(3) Folding laundry while your children ask you to play outside with them
(4) Sitting with your child in a cardboard box in the middle of the lawn
Obviously (4) is the best choice. (The baby was napping in her room.) Isaac and I were pretending the box was a boat and the butterflies were flying fish. We were also discussing our boat's engine's air filter. And eating chocolate!
Stay-at-home motherhood rocks!
I felt pretty good that Craig didn't catch me busy with (2) instead. That happens too.
