We've had magnetic alphabet letters on the side of our refrigerator for a few months now. Isaac can identify about a third of the letters, and he knows that certain words begin with a particular letter. (He knows that I is for Isaac and that M is for mama, for example.) Sometimes he asks us to play with the letters by saying "Help you spell something." (You meaning Isaac himself.) Then if he wants to play more, he says, "More spelling!"
We were playing with the letters one recent afternoon when Isaac said, "ABCDEFG." He didn't sing it; he simply said it. I hadn't known he could recite past D.
Craig asked Isaac, "What comes after that?"
"WXYZ," Isaac said.
In a way, he's correct.
