Google synchronicity

I'm sorry to hit you with more search engine keywords so soon, but these blew my mind. These remarkably similar searches were performed within hours of one another by different people all across the globe -- in some cases, within minutes of one another. I wish I could introduce these people to each other!

April 3, 2007
  • 8:20 a.m. infant cut lip [India]
  • 9:47 a.m. toddler cut lip [Arizona]
  • 2:51 p.m. cut lip toddler [England]

April 4, 2007
  • 5:33 a.m. bumps on head toddler [England]
  • 6:51 a.m. toddler bump on head how long does it last [U.S.]
  • 4:57 p.m. infant head bumped ear [Oregon]

April 4, 2007
4:22 p.m. baby suddenly sleeping alot [U.S.]
4:27 p.m. My baby is suddenly sleeping a lot [Pennsylvania]
4:55 p.m. son suddenly sleeps alot [Ohio]
6:25 p.m. babby naps too long [Utah]

These last four worried parents ended up here nearly simultaneously, even though it probably wasn't the destination they sought, as I'm pretty sure there's nothing in my blog about Isaac sleeping too long. Man, there must be a lot of people searching the Internet at any given moment. I wonder what percentage of them are parents seeking advice, reassurance, or companionship? (Like me!)

I realize that I'm digging myself into a hole here. I mean, the more often I transcribe these misplaced search terms, the more likely it is that someone else searching for the same terms will come across this blog, thereby making it even more likely that every person who accidentally uses the misspelling "babby" will end up here.

Also stopping by accidentally: "high-waisted panty" fans. Since I've joked about it so often, I'm now the #2 result on Google. I assume this wasn't the destination these folks sought, either, as the only true reference to said undergarments in my blog is a post about an out-of-touch saleswoman who tried to sell me some.

But even if I misled you, everyone is welcome here! And while I'm being so welcoming, I'd like to invite my readers to leave a brief comment. Won't you take a moment to say hello?
