Behavior change

There's been a slight shift in mood around here, a small change in attitude. Isaac is clingier and crankier and more defiant. He cries getting into the bath and he cries getting out. He asks me to carry him like a "tiny little baby." He whines "Hug Mama! Grab Mama hair!" even when nothing appears to have gone wrong. He is more violent toward me and is much more likely to purposefully escalate the violence when I ask him to stop.

And he has woken up in the middle of the night for the last three nights, requiring milk and assistance to get back to sleep.

The behavior change began about three days ago, and we've been back from our trip for six days, so I can't blame it on travel. Is it a growth spurt? Is he approaching the terrible twos? Is it his two-year-old molars? Is he getting sick?

Is it because, four days ago, I thought to myself, "Wow, this is possibly the happiest I've ever been in my entire life"?
