We returned home late on Friday night, somewhat the worse for wear. We had a great time, but travel wasn't kind to us.
While we were in Montana, Isaac developed what looks like eczema. At first it was only a red rash on the backs of his arms, but it eventually spread and became dry blotchy patches on his shoulders, cheeks, and chin. I blame environmental factors -- we were staying at a high elevation, the climate was dry, and the air conditioning in our condo was brutal. It seems to be improving, however. Furthermore, while we were gone he caught a slight cold, but it also seems to be improving.
During our journey home, Craig twisted his knee as he was gathering up our belongings for a layover in Denver. If you ask Isaac what happened, he'll say something like, "Dad hurt knee, in airplane, trying take out Ike car seat." Craig is going to the doctor tomorrow, and although knee injuries can be a big deal, luckily he seems to be improving.
Finally, after a sizable decrease in breastfeeding for three days straight, I began to show signs of a plugged milk duct. We had two days of intensive sight-seeing and one long day of travel, so Isaac missed his afternoon nursing all three days and the evening nursings were extremely delayed. I was concerned because I've had mastitis twice before, and I was afraid this would progress into another infection, but I'm happy to say that I seem to be improving.
We look pretty sad these days, sitting around with our ice packs (Craig) and hot compresses (me).
