It's naptime

For me, that is. Isaac declined his nap today. Or, rather, exhausted by several nights of poor sleep, he briefly napped earlier today, and then didn't want to nap again at his regular time. Even though he's tired! Even though he's rubbing his eyes! He doesn't know what's good for him.

I already had come to the conclusion that I was tired enough that I ought to take a nap myself today, even though I hate to waste his naptime on my own sleep -- two days running, to boot, as I had to take a nap during his nap yesterday. But as disappointed as I had been to realize that I needed the sleep more than I needed the free time, I was even more disappointed when I realized I wasn't going to get either one.

But then Uncle Joel (or, as Isaac pronounces his name, Uncle Glue), my brother and housemate, stepped up. He's playing with Isaac right now, so I can try to take a nap. Let's hope my night-time insomnia won't plague my afternoons as well.
