Two years ago, I spent Labor Day in labor. At this time of the night -- 9:30 p.m. -- I was in transition, although I didn't know it. I was still at home, happily laboring in my bedroom. I had no idea that the baby was so close to being born. But Isaac was born three hours later, at 12:40 a.m.
Two years ago on this day -- September 3 -- Craig and I were finally beginning to get our house cleaned up and organized for the baby. (We didn't make it.) My official due date was September 7, but we didn't expect the baby to be born that soon, so we hadn't been in a rush. But I went into labor two days later, on September 5, and Isaac was born on September 6.
Looks like unrealistic scheduling, poor time management, and procrastination are Isaac's birthright. On the other hand, he was the one who was punctual!
